I apologize that I'm once again apologizing for my blog absence! School for my students was winding down and I just picked up two more grad classes, so I've been a tad busy! However, work school is over and grad school seems to be leveling out as far as stress goes, so I'm hoping to get back to posting regularly!
A few months ago, I saw Revlon Popular and Revlon Whimsical on a blog. I immediately knew I had to have both of them. Popular was easy to find and after only two store searches, I located it at Target. Whimsical, however, seemed elusive. I all but gave up after scouring stores in Orlando and Tampa! Then, I saw a blog sale (I can't for the life of me remember what blog it was on) and Whimsical was for sale, brand new! Such a steal at $4, I couldn't pass it up. I actually bought it in May, which I had dubbed no nail polish buying month. However, when I made that statement aloud (it's never binding unless said aloud, hahaha!), I told my husband that the only exception would be if I found Whimsical since I'd been searching for it for months! So technically, it doesn't count as breaking my no-buy promise! Anyways, she's just as beautiful as I had hoped. Whimsical is crazy sheer. I knew this ahead of time, so I first polished my nails with China Glaze For Audrey (a favorite of mine!) with an accent nail (obviously!) of OPI Aphrodite's Pink Nightie. Two coats of each of those and then I did two coats of Whimsical. As you can tell, the bluish color of Whimsical barely tainted my pink accent nail; that's just how sheer it is! The glitter is gorgeous and I love the smaller and larger pieces. There's large pink and aqua hexagonal pieces, smaller pink hexagonal pieces, and then very small aqua pieces that almost seemed iridescent. It went on well and I didn't do any glitter fishing or placement at all.
Picture forewarning: Florida has entered Hurricane Season, which means we get rain EVERY SINGLE DAY. I've struggled to get good pictures lately without any good sunlight, so just be aware. It figures since I have some cool holo swatches coming up! UGH! :) These pictures were taken indoors without flash on an overcast day. Enjoy!
