Easy Dotticure

I did some really easy dotted nails for you guys today! These were simple and turned out to be really fun!

I began with two coats of ellagee's The Only Water in the Forest. Such a gorgeous turquoise polish with pink shimmer...I just love this one! I then used a large dotting tool to make purple dots going from darkest to lightest around the cuticle line of my nails. I first used Zoya Monica, the darkest purple. Next was Zoya Odette and finally, Zoya Heather. I love the optical illusion effect these seem to have! Enjoy! :)

Zoya Magical Pixie Dust Swatches

Ready for a photo heavy post full of drool-worthy Zoya Magical Pixie Dust swatches? Good, because that's what awaits you!

The Magical Pixies are different from the usual Pixies because they have holographic hex glitter in them in addition to the usual Pixie texture. Those hexes take these polishes up a notch in the glitter world! The formula is definitely thicker and a little harder to work with than the regular Pixie Dust formula. However, I didn't have any trouble polishing with these! They went on well and clean-up was a breeze! Removal of these will be a challenge, but no more than normal glitter polish! All in all, I love these just as much, if not a little more than the original Pixies! The sparkle factor just wows me and that's the main difference between these and the Pixies we all know and love! I highly recommend these if you love glitter and texture! And of course, anyone who has used Zoya knows how phenomenal their polishes are anyway! Ok, ok, enough chatter. Onto the polishes!

First up, Zoya Cosmo, a silver textured polish with a mesmerizing mix of glitter! This is two coats!

Zoya Lux is a rose colored textured polish packed with glitter! Stunning! Again, two coats!

Abstract Nail Art

I'm part of a group on Facebook that's dedicated to lovers of ellagee polish. Of course, I am a serious lover of ellagee polish! So when Laura created a group exclusive polish, I nearly died from excitement! As soon as it arrived, I had to swatch it immediately. And then I fell in love. Serious love here! So this is Plum Gee-nius:

ellagee Plum Gee-nius

Such a gorgeous plum holo, right?! So after I fell in love, I HAD to do some nail art with it! These didn't turn out exactly how I wanted them to, but I still like them! :)

I began with two coats of Plum Gee-nius on all of my nails except my accent nail, which had two coats of Color Club Sheer Disguise. Then I used my nail art brush to create some random shapes with Sheer Disguise over Plum Gee-nius and vice versa on my accent nail. Finally, I stuck a rhinestone to the middle of each shape! Enjoy! :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day to those celebrating today! I have to say that Mr. IFP and I aren't into V-Day, but I definitely have a blast with my students on Valentine's Day! We're probably all rocking mustaches as you read this! The valentines I made them said, "I mustache you to be my Valentine!" Hehehe!

Ok, onto the nails I'm wearing today! I began with two coats of OPI Your Royal Shine-ness on my accent nail, two coats of ellagee Forgetful Lucy on my middle nail, and two coats of ellagee Wouldn't It Be Nice on the rest of my nails! I used You Polish Love Crush to create a gradient over Forgetful Lucy and Wouldn't It Be Nice. On my accent nail, I taped off random shapes and polished Julie G Hot Cinnamon and China Glaze Wish On a Startfish in the shapes. I pulled the tape off and here's what I ended up with! Enjoy! :)

Indie Spotlight: Jior Love

I have some gorgeous Valentine's Day polishes to show you guys from Jior Couture today! Her new collection, Jior Love, is available right now and the two I received to review are simply beautiful!

I'm Yours is a described as a grey/lavender holographic polish. To me, it leans more on the lavender side of things than grey. This polish is exactly what I've come to expect from Jior Couture...smooth as can be! I did two coats of I'm Yours over a base coat and topped it off with Jior's new quick drying top coat, Cover Me! I did two photographs under an LED light so you could see this beautiful holo in all of her glory! I'm Yours is $8.50 for a full size polish!

Mad Hearter (fantastic name!) is a soft pink jelly loaded with pink micro glitter, black hearts, and small and medium pink hexes. I did one coat over I'm Yours and I love the combination! I got three hearts on my nails without trying and then fished a bit for the other two. As you know, I rarely mind fishing because it is always worth it in the end! Mad Hearter can be purchased for $8.00 for a full size! Enjoy! :)

Valentine's Day Gradient

I have a fun gradient for you guys today! These are super easy and would look fabulous for Valentine's Day! Or any other day of the year... ;)

I began with two coats of ellagee Give Me Liberty, a gorgeous red jelly filled with holographic silver glitter. Once that was dry, I used ripped up pieces of a makeup sponge to sponge on OPI Radiance. Radiance has to be one of my favorite silver polishes. It's so gorgeous, opaque, and foil-like! LOVE! Once I was done sponging, I added top coat and viola! Enjoy! :)

Indie Spotlight: Shimmer Mary

Shimmer Polish is known for her glitter bombs of awesomeness! The most recent delivery of polishes I received from her brought her polishes up a notch, in my opinion. These glitter bombs are in a colored base! Yay! I love when a polish is like it's own built-in jelly sandwich! Shimmer Mary is a variety of glitter (black, silver, iridescent, red) in a strawberry red jelly base! So gorgeous! I did three coats of Mary all by her glorious self! I finished it up with one coat of top coat! Mary was easy to apply, despite being full of glitter! The top coat made her smooth to the touch and beautiful for days! Enjoy! :)

Stitched V-Day Nails

Ready for some more Valentine's Day nails? Good, I thought so! ;)

Today I did a stitched look! I began by cutting a few hearts out of tape! I then stuck them to a plastic baggie, polished over them, and then peeled them off right away with an orange stick. I continued this twice with each heart so that they had two layers of polish on them. I pulled them off right away to prevent them from being a pain to peel off of the baggie. I used Zoya Belinda and Zoya Ziv for the hearts.

While the hearts dried, I polished my nails with two coats of Zoya Zara. Then, I stuck the hearts to my nails. I then added the stitch marks by drawing them on with an orange stick dipped in polish! I finished it up with one coat of top coat to seal the hearts in! Enjoy! :)

Indie Spotlight: Carpe Noctem Sapphire Abyss

I have a new indie brand to show you guys today! I was perusing Etsy one day and came across Carpe Noctem Cosmetics! I ended up purchasing two polishes and I have one of those polishes to show you today!

Carpe Noctem Sapphire Abyss is a deep purple polish that shifts to sky blue! Amazing! This polish is full of shimmery goodness and ended up being simply gorgeous on my nails! I did three coats without undies. I topped it off with a quick drying top coat! This polish was smooth, dried quickly between coats, and looked beautiful. Enjoy! :)

Valentine's Day Nails

Ready for my next set of Valentine's Day nails? I love these are they were so so easy to do! I began with three coats of Zoya Lexi. Lexi is not a new release from Zoya. I've had her sitting on my nail polish rack for nearly two years. I don't know what made me decide to use her but I'm so glad I did! This polish is crazy gorgeous!

Once Lexi was dry, I used a black Sharpie (yes, a Sharpie!) to draw "love" onto my nails in cursive. I did the best I could so that the writing would match up together when my nails were in line. As long as you seal your Sharpie drawings in with top coat, it will last until you take your polish off! If you don't use top coat, it is liable to rub off over time. Enjoy! :)
