Tip Tuesday: Easy Polish Removal

I know I've never done one before, but I'm calling today Tip Tuesday because I have an easy nail polish removal tip for you today! I know I have been a supporter of the tin foil method in the past, and the one cotton ball method as well. This method is my new go-to method which combines the two together! I use it every single time I remove polish, glitter or otherwise. It uses one cotton ball and a set of fingertip grips. Enjoy! :)

Start by unrolling your cotton ball:

Rip the unrolled cotton ball into fingernail sized pieces:

I bought my fingertip grips at Walmart for around $3.50 in the office supply section. I actually bought two sets of them so I could have enough little ones because some of the big ones were too big:
One Cotton Ball Nail Polish Removal
Soak the piece of cotton ball with remover and then place in on your nail. I like to hang it over the edge a little and then press it down to seal it around my nail:

Then, slide the fingertip grip over the cotton ball! Continue this process until all of your fingers are covered:

I usually let them sit for about two minutes. Then, I take one fingertip grip off at a time. I press down on the cotton and slide it off of my nail. It is the best method I've ever used and it works so well!

Interlocking Dots

I have a fun dotticure for you today! I've seen black and white versions of these nails in the past but I decided to do a more colorful version. This is my first attempt and while they didn't turn out perfectly, I like the end result!

I began with two coats of Zoya Purity. I then put a piece of striping tape diagonally across my nail and polished Zoya Arizona below the tape. After I pulled the tape off, I used my dotting tool to dot Arizona along the line created by the striping tape. I tried to eyeball it and leave enough space between each Arizona dot for a dot of Purity, which is what I did next. After I dotted Purity between the Arizona dots up the line, I added accent dots on either side. Enjoy! :)

Indie Spotlight: ellagee Neons

I have some more gorgeous ellagee polishes to show you today! I was super excited to try Laura's new neon polishes so when she asked me to review a few of them, I could barely contain my glee! I just loved Party Like It's 1999 so I knew these were going to be awesome, too! I used a white base coat on all of these because that's what I do whenever I wear neon polish. It really helps the color to pop! Each swatch shows two coats of polish as well! I finished each mani with a coat of top coat, but these do dry matte if you like your neons matte! Enjoy! :)

First up is Totally Blue-bular, a blue neon that has a light white shimmer to it. Absolutely beautiful!

Next is my favorite: Dude! This is the perfect highlighter neon yellow with shimmer! Amazing!

Finally, Blurple to the Max, a blueish purple neon with a hint of shimmer.

These polishes were flawless! Absolutely smooth and shimmery. I just love them! They looked especially wonderful under my LED, which is what they would look like in the sunlight. You should definitely check out if you haven't already!

Zoya Pixie Dust Summer: Part One

Oh man, Zoya has done it again! Not only did they blow textured polish out of the water with their first Pixie Dust collection, but now they have come out with their Summer Pixie Dust Collection and it is absolutely PHENOMENAL!

I have the three lightest shades to show you today. The formula on these is flawless, just like the first collection. These polishes are full coverage in two coats with no scratchy edges. And the gold flecks in these are gorgeous! Enjoy!

Bohemian Flowers

The Lacquerologist did some really cool Bohemian Flower nails recently and I loved them so much that I recreated them! I did mine a little differently, though!

I began with two coats of China Glaze Liquid Crystal. If you're looking for a one coat, full coverage glitter, you NEED to check out the Prismatics Collection. They are phenomenal for coverage! AND they're duochromatic! Anyways, after that I used Zoya Yummy, Perrie, and Purity to make random dots within dots within dots. That is, a large dot, a medium one on top of that one, and a smaller dot on top. Then, I added stems using my white striping polish. I also drew a few random triangular leaves on the stems. Finally, I dotted the center color around each large dot for a "petal" look. These turned out to be very busy on my nail, but I liked them and got a lot of compliments! Enjoy! :)

Indie Spotlight: ellagee

Before we get to the post, I wanted to remind everyone that Google Reader, how most people read new posts, will cease to exist in July! Therefore, I highly recommend following me via Blog Lovin'! You can find the link to the right AND they will transfer any other blogs you follow to Blog Lovin', if you so choose! :) Onto the polish!

is a brand that is new to me in the indie world. Laura is really nice and has some pretty neat polishes! The first polish I bought from her is Party Like It's 1999. I LOVE THE NAME! :) This polish is a black holographic base with circle glitter in many colors. I put this on with OPI Black Onyx undies, but I could have gone without for sure! The application was smooth and was fine with one coat over undies. Two coats without undies would have been great, I'm sure! I did two coats anyways, to try and coax out the glitter! :) My only complaint is that the black base made it hard to see the circle glitter. Otherwise, this polish was great and unique! Enjoy! :)

Fun French Nails

The Manicurator did some really awesome French tipped nails recently and they were so simple but cool looking that I wanted to try them myself. I began with three coats of Zoya Bella from The Blogger Trio. Bella is a gorgeous grapefruit-y shimmer jelly polish. Once Bella was dry, I taped my nails off like this:

I then polished Zoya Zuza over the tape and pulled it off. This is what I ended up with! It almost looks a little watermelon-ish to me, which was not my intent, but I love them nonetheless. Enjoy! :)
